Summary: Five times someone threatened Jango for Obi-Wan's sake.

A/N: This is less of a +1—or even particularly related to the theme, tbh—but I woke up one night with the idea for it already half formed, and it is extremely relevant to this fic. And I don't know where I'd put it, if not at the end of this set. So.

The Kaminoans are the worst, and the clones definitely deserved better. But so did Jango.
Nod to watch it grow, child of woe by afearsomecritter; I'm not sure if this fic can be wholly blamed for sparking the idea of Jango getting reconditioned, but I did end up thinking about it a bit while writing this chapter. (Gen, the Kaminoans recondition Jango to the point that he doesn't remember who he is.)

Summary: Five times someone threatened Jango for Obi-Wan's sake.

A/N: At last, the person who started this foray. :') And then dragged their feet about actually getting to the threatening, sheesh.

I do personally ascribe to the headcanon that Cody's name was Kote before it was changed, for...idk, pick a reason. (My headcanon is that Jango gave it to them, and then it came out that Jango had been working with the Republic's enemy—not, necessarily, accurate in this AU; more likely, Jango did something that made Kote/Cody rethink using a name he'd given them—and they decided to change it to something else. Cody is close enough to Kote that any slips as their vode got used to using a new name wouldn't upset them or bring questions from any natborns who might be trusted enough to overhear.)
Sideways related, the first time I wrote a scene with Cody, they claimed they/them, so that's the pronouns I use for them. (Alpha actually did the same thing, which is why Jango kept using neutral pronouns for them last chapter.)

Warning for anyone who needs it that Jango has a panic attack when he and Cody are on Slave I. Let me know if I should put in a jump-link so y'all can skip it.

Summary: Five times someone threatened Jango for Obi-Wan's sake.

A/N: This chapter is a...little rough. Jango's suffering from a rather severe case of mental dissonance; part of him recognises Obi-Wan as safe and someone he loves, but another part of him despises jedi and wishes them all dead. Including and especially Kenobi.
Related, Jango is more than a little apathetically suicidal, once he can think straight. He doesn't make any attempts, but he also just doesn't care; take care of yourself, and if you need to skip out this chapter, I promise the next one will be better. (Although, these morons take their time about actually talking to one another.)

This was originally going to be Anakin, but it occurred to me that he's more likely to threaten Jango on Padmé's behalf, and since Quin got relegated to 'distract Obi-Wan so Dex can threaten his suitor' last time... (If you thought that comm call's timing was suspicious, congrats, you get a virtual cookie. ;)

Summary: Five times someone threatened Jango for Obi-Wan's sake.

A/N: Spiritual successor (precursor?) to Only You Now, which was one of my 2021 JangObi Week fics. By which I mean, thinking about that fic spawned this one, and this should be, if not completely accurate to the hints of backstory in that fic, close enough for government work.
This started as me wanting to write Cody giving Jango the shovel talk the first time Jango docked with the Negotiator to see Obi-Wan, and then it occurred to me that Cody would not have been the first person to threaten Jango for Obi-Wan's sake, so you get this disaster, instead. Heh.
I thought about doing one for Qui-Gon, but ultimately decided not to. Reader's choice if Qui-Gon is missing because he's knew better than to get in the middle of Obi-Wan's interpersonal relationships, just never had the opportunity, or was a shitty master.

My usual headcanon has Jango wasting away on the spice ship until around the time of Obi-Wan's mission to Mandalore—Tor's murder would explain why Death Watch, who had been so gung-ho to claim Mandalore, got their arses handed to them by a bunch of pacifists—but Jango was freed sooner in this AU.
Also, this Jango does not wholly blame the jedi for Galidraan; any part he had in the plot to use the clones against the Order, was wholly due to sith mind fuckery. Which is implied, but not outright stated. (Mostly because I didn't care to try to figure out what all, exactly, Dooku was willing to trust him with about the plan to have the clones kill the jedi.)

Mando'a has hovertext translations—mobile-capable on AO3, not on DW or LJ—and there is also a glossary of terms—last chapter on AO3, link at the bottom of any chapter on DW/LJ—for those who prefer that manner.
Title is given to mean "watch your six" in the dictionary.

There are a number of character deaths in this chapter, including two canon characters. One should be obvious, on account of the happy ending tag, but the other is not. For those who need specific warnings, please jump to the closing author's note.
There are also some slightly graphic descriptions of some of the dead and wounded. I've added a link that should let you jump over what I consider the worst of it. If people think I need to add another jump, let me know and I can do that.

Other than that, remember the eventual happy ending tag and good luck?

There is a single instance of Huttese in this chapter, so I'll be adding a new table with it to the bottom of the glossary, but it's a word everyone is likely familiar with.

In other news, I felt bad about referencing the text of The Bounty Hunter Code, in regard to beskar'gam terms, in the glossary, without having any online copy of the relevant text to send people to. So I went ahead and typed those sections up in a google doc, which everyone is welcome to peruse and utilise as they please.

A/N: Wherein Jaster and Obi-Wan finally get the chance to sort out their mutual attraction, and Jango reacts approximately as you would expect. Also, Dooku shows up.

Reminder that any sex scenes will be fade-to-black. I'm not writing them, but people are welcome to write their own versions and link back here, if something inspires.

Also, since it has come up in a few reviews, now, re:Anakin's actions on Tatooine: I don't believe it's Obi-Wan's job to stop Anakin from committing genocide. He is old enough to know better, and sending Obi-Wan in like an avenging knight—given Shmi's certain death (a reminder that it is AotC!canon that the Tuskens had already had her for a month; there is nothing, at this point, that anyone can do to save her) and Anakin's own feelings of being constantly held back (also AotC!canon)—is more likely to make the situation worse. Moreover, Obi-Wan's message from Geonosis (after doing some snooping around) comes in as Anakin is returning with Shmi's body (potentially a little after? How long did R2 wait to bring them the message?); timing-wise, in this fic, by the time Jango returns to Kamino (he made it nearly the whole way to Geonosis, then flew back; Geonosis and Tatooine look like they're in the same sector of space, on the galactic map, so we can assume travel time is similar to/from Kamino), it is already too late for Obi-Wan to make it to Tatooine and stop Anakin.
Also, Obi-Wan has his own mission to attend to. In this fic, that mission went from hunting the bounty hunter who attempted to kill the person currently in his padawan's care (whose trail went cold, because Obi-Wan didn't manage to tag Slave I with a tracker), to liaising with the newly-alive Mand'alor and learning about and safeguarding this army of 3 million souls, which supposedly belong to the Jedi Order. He has more important things to focus on than serving as Anakin's moral compass and impulse control. Give the man a fucking break.

Title: Haat'Mand'alor be Yaim'ol
Fandom: Star Wars

Pairing: Obi-Wan Kenobi/Jaster Mereel
Warnings: Time travel, canon-typical violence, fix-it (apparently), not everyone dies/some live, the Kaminoans are the worst, Jaster is the Mand'alor we deserve, character death, the clones deserve better, Jaster has 3 million grandkids, mental manipulation, Mandalorian culture, Mandalorian morality, an excessive amount of murder (of Kaminoans), Jedi culture respected, Jango needs a hug, Rex needs a hug, Fox needs a hug, EVERYONE GETS A HUG (except the Kaminoans), asexual Jango, nonbinary clones, trans clones, polyamory mention, disabled characters, happy ending
Summary: Jaster Mereel doesn't die on Korda VI, but is instead thrust forward thirty years to Kamino.

A/N: I have no idea where this idea came from, it just did. I sort of expected it to turn into a 'Jaster lays into Jango about his shitty life choices' fic. Which it is, to an extent, but, also, Dooku is an asshole, the Kaminoans are the worst, and Jango isn't entirely to blame for the way the clones were raised.
I did not start out intending this to be JastObi, but Jaster was insistent, and I am a weak author who cannot say no to my characters. (Especially when it's in regard to rarepairs that I enjoy.) Related, all smutty scenes will be fade-to-black; if you want to read Jaster and Obi-Wan getting it on, write it yourself.
I also went into this foolishly expecting it to be a one-shot, maybe as long as 30k. I don't know why, I should know myself better by this point. *eyeroll*

Opening scene is taken directly from Jango Fett: Open Seasons, then transfers to the tail of Jango and Obi-Wan's battle in Attack of the Clones, with some minor timing changes for plot reasons.
Canon-related, my understanding of the members of the Cuy'val Dar—the group of mostly-Mandalorians that Jango brought in to train the clones—comes from Wookieepedia and fanon, not Traviss' books. (I have no intention of reading something by someone who thinks the jedi deserved to be genocided and calls those who like them Nazis.) If they are not the characters you're familiar with, that's why. (Also, I've made a few of them non-human, because, for a community supposedly so welcoming of non-humans, there seem to be a depressing number of them that are humans. Which, related, I'm basing non-human helmet designs on the-art-block's sketches over on tumblr. Link is for my blog, since they don't seem to have a tag just for their helmet sketches.)

For Mando'a (and, I think, 2 Huttese words?), I've added hover-text, which doesn't really work on mobile, alas. (It does on Ao3, so you may be best reading over there.) Alternately, there's a glossary of terms in a separate post, for those who prefer that manner. If an entire section of dialogue is bolded, you can assume it's being spoken in Mando'a, but I'll do my best to let you know in the text when they're switching languages.
The title translates to 'The True Mand'alor's Return'. It can also be taken to mean 'Return of the True Mandalorians' Mand'alor', given the fanon Mando'a for the faction is 'Haat'ade' and Mando'a's habit of dropping parts of words while mashing them together. Both translations are correct, in this case. (We can argue word order until the cows come home, btw, but that seems like more energy than a made-up language is worth, to me. You do you, I guess?)

Title: Open Up My Mind
Fandom: Star Wars
Author: Batsutousai
Rating: Mature
Pairing: Jango Fett/Obi-Wan Kenobi
Warnings: Asexual!Jango, trans!Obi-Wan, trans!clones, the Kaminoans suck, mental manipulations, allusions to canon slavery, allusions to canon drug use
Summary: Before Jango Fett can flee Kamino and the jedi stalking his steps, he stops to protect some of the clones. In joining his defence, Obi-Wan proves himself worthy of Jango's trust.

A/N: For day 5 of JangObi Week, the prompt is competence kink, with the art/secondary prompt of rain. I also gave myself a challenge to write only ace!Jango for this week, although, this is from Obi-Wan's PoV, so that isn't particularly obvious.
The idea my muse handed me for this day involved trans clones, and Obi stepped in and insisted he also be trans; everything is queer and we are living. That said, there is the implication of transphobia—really, it's just the Kaminoans' everything—but the presumed comment isn't on-screen.

There's a part that takes place in Jango's head, which I wrote when I was super tired; if it reads funky, we'll call it purposeful. (Related: this fic didn't get a reread, because I ran out of time, and my next block of free time is tomorrow night. So.)

Allusions made to Jango's enslavement and being forced to work with spice (&, presumably, having to go through a withdrawal) from Jango Fett: Open Seasons, as well as Obi-Wan's enslavement in Jedi Apprentice.

Mando'a should mostly be translated in the surrounding text, or be otherwise commonly enough used in the fandom that most should recognise them, but I've added hover-text for the words not immediately translated, and everything is in the separate glossary, for those who prefer/require that manner.

Warnings: Asexual!Jango, non-binary!Obi-Wan, slavery, implications of pre-fic noncon, established relationship (sorta), love confession
Summary: Jango comes across Obi-Wan during an undercover mission, and offers to help.

A/N: For day 3 of JangObi Week, the prompt is undercover. I also gave myself a challenge to write only ace!Jango for this week.
This day also features non-binary!Obi-Wan, who was very insistent about that.

Please note that this does open with Obi-Wan as a Hutt's dancing/pleasure slave. This was purposeful, on their part. However, since this is Obi-Wan, a couple of things went wrong, and they could use some help.

There's only one word of Mando'a, and it's a bit of a joke nickname that Obi-Wan uses for Jango, which is translated at the end of the fic, and also in the glossary.
There are sections of dialogue that are spoken in Huttese, but since our PoV character is fluent, they're written out in English and bolded.

Title: We'll Be Good in Another Life
Fandom: Star Wars
Author: Batsutousai
Rating: Mature
Pairings: Jango Fett/Obi-Wan Kenobi, Din Djarin/Boba Fett
Warnings: Asexual!Jango, Asexual!Boba, two Bobas (oh no), time travel, Jango's issues with jedi, internalised clonephobia, Jango is actually a good dad, little bit of hurt/lotta comfort, relationship struggles, pro-jedi (although Jango has some opinions)
Summary: The fight between Obi-Wan Kenobi and Jango Fett on Kamino is ended by the appearance of two new Mandalorians, who claim to be from the future.

A/N: For day 2 of JangObi Week, the prompt is time travel. I also gave myself a challenge to write only ace!Jango for this week. (&, since no one can stop me, Boba is also ace.)

There I was, getting out of the bath, and this idea just...slammed me upside the head and wouldn't shut up. (To the point that it's fucking massive, wtf, muse?) So.
Spoiler warnings for season 2 of The Mandalorian, with some minor changes to the end of The Rescue (idk, Fennec called Boba soon as they'd taken the bridge and he returned in time to turn the dark troopers floating in space into so much scrap, so no appearance by mysterious jedi figures to save the party's bacon, maybe because, for some reason, Grogu failed to reach anyone on Tython? Which means Din is still looking for a teacher for Grogu).

Mando'a either has hover-text translations (with translations in the glossary, for those who need/prefer that method), or, since both of our PoV characters are fluent, are in English, but bolded. Given the nature of Mando'a, all gendered pronouns in the translated Mando'a are written as gender neutral.
