A/N: So, I've been telling people this on a sort of person-to-person basis, but it occurs to me that I should actually make a proper announcement, especially for those who've been so patiently (or not) awaiting an update to this series: Uhm, I started getting rather annoyed with DW near the end of season 6, and I really hated Clara, once she came aboard, though I was determined to write this, anyway, maybe after a break for other fandoms? But then came that fucking Day of the Doctor bullshit episode, where they went and effectively erased my favourite Doctor, nine, without a bloody care, and I am so done with Moffat. I can't imagine there's anything that will get me to come back to the series, save him quitting, so I haven't watched any more and thinking about Moffat's seasons makes me want to commit murder, so I'm not finishing this fic. Sorry/not sorry.

That said, rather than post a note-chapter or update the a/n at the end of last chapter and chance half of you not seeing it ever, I figured I'd leave you with what I've written of this next chapter. It doesn't get to the end of the scene, so sorry for the open ending. Not sure where my notes got to, so I can't leave a bulleted list or anything about what I'd decided to include from this season. *shrugs*

A/N: At the end of the last chapter, I got a lot of whimpers and tears over River's parting line. Sorry if that made people upset? But that was me trying to keep this fic cannon. Especially since we don't know what's going to happen with River and the Doctor. (Though it seems we'll be finding out soon enough. XD)

So, there's a bit in this chapter which I... yoinked... from The Sarah Jane Adventures, which is another shoot-off series, like Torchwood. I've made mentions to the series before, but nothing concrete. But there was an episode set this season that took place when Harry would have been on the TARDIS, so I sort of had to add it. This episode is titled 'Death of the Doctor'.
For those who don't watch this show, Sarah Jane Smith travelled with the third and forth Doctors and reappeared in the New Who episode 'School Reunion' before getting her own show, where she, her adopted son, Luke, and some neighbourhood kids, Clyde and Rani, attempt to use the Doctor's more peaceful measures to deal with alien threats.
This particular episode also stars Jo Grant – now Jo Jones – who travelled with the third Doctor before Sarah Jane.
In the canon of this fic, Harry helped Sarah Jane at one point shortly after he joined Torchwood and ended up almost getting Clyde killed, so Sarah Jane isn't really happy with him, and Rani and Clyde aren't quite sure how they feel – on one hand, he's Harry Potter; on the other, he's a bit reckless and Sarah Jane's ticked.

A/N: A lot of you have commented that Ginny isn't really such a bad lass, considering what a bad husband and father Harry's been. Figured I should probably address that, as, yes, their problems are somewhat Harry's fault, but the fault doesn't lie with him alone.
A large part of their marriage has always been based on Ginny's long-standing awe of Harry Potter and Harry's love of the entire Weasley family. (This seemed true to me even in the books.) And, no matter who you are, that's no basis for a marriage. Add in a friend who Harry grew to love after travelling for a bit and it just gets more complicated, especially since Ginny hates the Doctor so much. Really, Ginny's demands that Harry stay away from the Doctor just made him want to see the Time Lord that much more.
Harry is very attached to his job. Even in canon, he seemed the sort to be attached to his job. Not so much because he loved doing it as that he needed to do his job for the future of his family, so he could live knowing his children and nieces and nephews and godson would all have a better world to grow up in than he did. Just because he's fighting aliens now instead of Dark wizards doesn't make that any less important.
I do hope that helps a bit.

A/N: I'm going to take a great deal of joy in ruining this episode. So much of it had to do with the Doctor just losing Rose and not having anyone to travel with and watch him, but Harry's with him this time, so things'll have to be a bit different.

Also, I hated Donna in this episode, but I grew to like her a bit later on. Since later Donna is who I remember best, my Donna might not be quite as obnoxious as how she's supposed to be in this episode. Tried to keep her pig-headed, though, to some extent. -nervous laughter-

Last thing! You may have noticed that I've decided to cut this episode off from the Martha Arc, which I hadn't quite decided on as of last chapter. So that means there will be at least four parts, five if I make a different part for the episodes after the Doctor loses Donna, which I'll probably do. Just a heads up, as it were.

Okay. I've decided to divide the 10th Doctor up into parts based on who his companion is in the show. I'll try not to completely re-hash everything that happens in each episode where I insert Harry, but some things will have to be mentioned a bit.

A few of you were a bit thrown by the end of Hanging by a Thread when I said that Harry would never see the Doctor again. I meant, specifically, the 9th Doctor, since they're really, sorta different people. So it's like meeting a whole new person who remembers everything about you from before and you just have to learn to like them.
Anyway, sorry that bit wasn't as clear as it could have been. Here's the next instalment. XD
