A/N: This chapter developed a mind of its own, I swear. It got so utterly away from me.

This chapter starts my new thing of marking a part where the characters aren't speaking English by bolding that text. (Minor lie: I retroactively bolded some of Voldemort's notes to Harry, during my editing, but this is when it really starts to become a constant, so I didn't move the note. Also, lazy author is lazy.) So if something's bolded, assume it's in Atlantean, unless otherwise labelled.
Related: Harry and Death don't, necessarily, speak English when it's just them, but I'm not going to bother screwing around with bolding that, as languages are rather interchangeable between them.

For ages at the start of this chapter, Harry is 7. (Will is 6 and Chris is 3.)

While crocheting, I took to rewatching Rugrats, which reminded me of some childhood things I'd missed. I edited a few things into previous chapters, and there's a couple things in this chapter. A/N: Haha, omg, I hadn't meant for the end of last chapter to come across as ominous? ^^; I promise no Dursleys will be showing up in this fic, and we've seen the last of the shitty teachers.

There have been some questions about Harry's ability to do magic, especially via the Elder Wand. According to any and all magical scans, he is a squib. (I think it was touched on last chapter, that Harry has magic, but being born a werewolf burned his magical pathways; imagine it like a vein getting blocked, or a nerve dying.) So far as anyone on the outside can tell, he's incapable of using a wand like a normal witch or wizard. But the Elder Wand is acting like a passage all of its own, and he can use magic through that. Which, because it doesn't have a physical form, looks like wandless magic. So, yes, he can do things like cast a summoning charm or apparate, but he cannot do so through an actual wand, it's always wandless. (The wand Voldemort made is special in that it's using its own set of, shall we say, blueprints for the spells, as well as magic siphoned into it via another source. If you gave that wand to a normal witch or wizard, they could only cast those specific spells so long as it had a charge, same as a squib or muggle, because it doesn't have a core.)
Because there's no way for Harry to explain this ability, and because it's relatively easy to hide his use of it, he's not telling anyone about it.
Hopefully that clears things up for everyone?

A/N: Chapters may feel a bit slow for a while, since nothing much is happening. Just, you know, Harry growing up. (The horror.)
I have no intention in covering every little thing, largely because I have next to no experience with children, and the best way to avoid making an absolute fool of myself, I've discovered, is to simply brush over a lot.
On that note, Harry is smart, too smart. His parents have totally cottoned on to that, and they've made sure Sirius and Remus are in the loop. They don't quite understand how smart he is, nor can they guess anything close to the reason, but they're aware. And they do tend to treat him like he's older than he is, giving him responsibilities that no sane person would ever give a kid his age. But they live in a world of magic, and a super smart kid is not the weirdest thing in their universe. (&, as previously mentioned, Bats is not familiar with children. Which is why I was originally intending to have him start this world at eleven.)

There are mentions of an Atlantean language in this chapter, which will appear again in later chapters. For those curious, I'm basing the alphabet on the one created for Disney's Atlantis: The Lost Empire film.

For ages at the start of this chapter, Harry is 2. (His brother Will is 1.)

Which...probably not my best game plan, since it seems like that's how Jo picked pretty much the entire Weasley family. XP

A/N: I seem to recall saying there would be no sequel to Stand Against the Moon, and then, after four months of absolute silence, my muse popped his head out of the sand and said, 'Hey, I really like those re-do fics. Let's do another one.' (Although I took a bit of a long-arse break in the middle of writing because other fandoms kept eating my soul. ^^; )
Since SAtM already had a world/reality hopping foundation, and were!Harry is fun, my brain attached my muse's ideas to that universe and it...clicked. Curse everything.

If you're new to this insanity, you may want to read SAtM just for the backstory of why Harry's as fucked up as he is and why/how Tom became Death (mentioned in the opening scenes of this chapter), but I'm intending to write it in such a way that you can skip that fic without suffering for it. ^.^"

This fic is completed at 27 chapters. It'll be updated every other day until it is finished posting, which should be on 25th September, for those who like to wait and read a fic all at once. (It is over 200,000 words, so plan your time sensibly.)

The title for this chapter is taken from Phildel's The Wolf, which served as inspiration for the fic. It was originally going to be the fic's title, but then I came up with 'Stand Against the Moon'.

A/N: This foolery came about from reading the fic Shivani is writing that was inspired by Xerosis, followed very shortly by a reread of both Xerosis and my FFX/HP fic Twin Blades (Shivani absolutely laughed at me for this). I only have the vaguest of ideas about where I'm going with this, but I have the need to write something in HP right now, and none of my WiPs are getting anywhere. (Someone get me a blasting curse that works on writer's block walls, yeah? Appreciate it.)

As warning, this chapter follows from canon (pre-Epilogue), and is...not particularly pleasant. There is a non-consensual turning (involving cannibalism), violence, angst, and a couple murders in this chapter, including Harry's. If you're not 100% certain that you can handle this, I very much suggest waiting for the next chapter. You'll be filled in on the specifics later on, in a far less graphic manner. I wrote this mostly to get into this Harry's head, and so I'd know what he'd gone through later, and decided to post it for those who wanted to know everything up front, but you're not required to read this chapter to understand what's going on.
Any bitching I get about this, I will block. I've given you fair warning.
