XD ♥

I dunno, the acting didn't really feel forced to me, though I could have been distracted by the unnecessary amount of shit goes boom. (Jeebus fuck. I know it's Whedon and explosions are sort of expected, but...wow. Bit over the top.) There were a lot of one-liners, given, but, again, Whedon. I went into the film expected a steady stream of snark interlaced with explosions. XP (And I haven't been watching AoS, so I can't speak to any of that. ^.^")
Given, the Hawkeye family was...weird, but I don't feel like Clint got shafted. Compared to the other films he's been in, he was the bleeding star, really, which was a nice change. And, yeah, he got a knock in that first fight and they called on account of it, but it's also true that he is the only non-modified human on the team, and I think it's a good show of how well they've all learnt to work together that the moment Clint drops, they close ranks. Figuratively, since Tony's going to town on the fortress instead of facing the opposition in the forest, but still. That was a nice show of the team's bond, and since Scarlett Witch spent half the film trying to rip them apart, it was good.
But, yeah, family was weird. Made him seem a little too soft, I think, but I also sort of get that they wanted Clint to have something to protect, because he really kind of...doesn't, in comic canon. It's just...what he does. (I wouldn't be surprised if Renner had a hand in giving Clint a family, since I'm pretty sure it's not even scrapped comic's canon.)

Nah, my biggest complaint about the film, other than the unnecessary amount of shit blowing up, was how much of that opening fight scene seemed to be computer animated. It was...extremely distracting.
I was a little weirded out about the Nat/Bruce subplot, even though I'd been spoiled about it in advance. It just... There's too much of the story missing, between the near miss in the first film and Nat being the only one capable of calming the Hulk down in the second film. It was jarring. (And what IS it with superhero films and needing to involve a romantic subplot? Because I will never understand that bit of Hollywood fuckery.)

I am also way too amused that they finally managed to drag Paul Bettany (JARVIS) into this circus. He's admitted, before, in one interview or another, that he's never watched the franchise, just did the lines they sent him for Jarvis and called it done. So, when I realised Vision was actually Bettany? Yeah, started laughing.

Idk. I've always had a bit of a wider forgiveness margin for things in films, in my experience, as opposed to other people. Bonus of spending most of my teen and university years avoiding tv and film, I guess? ^.^"
But, yeah, fanfic is better. Fanfiction is ALWAYS better. More time to explore character interactions than you get on the big screen, and less pandering to the male audience. (Because that's what superhero films pander to, disgustingly enough. :/ Failing of the universe.)
